Quality Assurance of HFI-Pipes
To ensure a constant high quality at the production of longitudinally welded line pipes with the HFI-technology an extensive quality management system is indispensable.
In this case on the one hand organisational aspects in the project business and on the other hand the number and requirements of inspections become more and more important. This can be led back to rising customer and product specifications and to an increasing spectrum of products. In this context thick pipes and pipes for sour or off-shore conditions can be mentioned. This essay deals with testing technologies which are carried out at Mannesmann Line Pipe, their integration in the whole process chain when manufacturing pipes, and the applied quality management system.

Untersuchungen an der Wehranlage Geesthacht zeigen, dass Kolkprozesse in gegenständlichen Modellen nach wie vor eine Herausforderung darstellen. Einerseits erfordert die Abbildung der morphologischen Prozesse von feinen Sedimenten Kompromisse bei der Naturähnlichkeit. Andererseits sind berührungslose Methoden erforderlich, um den Kolkprozess im laufenden
Versuch zu beobachten. Insgesamt konnten die maßgebenden Randbedingungen für den Kolkprozess aufgezeigt werden, so dass Sicherheit für die Planung der notwendigen geometrischen Veränderungen des Tosbeckens und für die Konzeptionierung der Kolksicherungsstrecke besteht.
